Nerds

Dear people's faces I shall call my diary,

Last night I was listening to "Us Against The World" by Coldplay. And I realized just how much I love the band. H loves them too, if you haven't noticed.

Anyway, I have, in fact, been working on designs. If you don't know what designs I'm talking about, I'm talking about t-shirts. I know I've been saying I've been working on it but...I really got working on them. Like, I'm really devoted and I'm going to be done with my very first design. The sad thing is I need to talk to H about these. I am actually thinking of calling her for a meeting.

Meetings sounds really fun. Mainly when there is a lot of money involved, charts, and official talk. And just planning for it is a thrill. Because all you can think about is the plans and ideas that will go around. And you'll be able to learn different thinks and have a better idea for the stuff you have made. That's the point of a meeting but when kids have meetings, it seems way more fun then grown up meetings. We laugh and get side tracked, (which doesn't make me doesn't make me happy after a minute or two) and we have fun. Now, I really want a meeting. Like now.

But let's talk about now and not the future I haven't even planned for. Today, I watched the "National Geographic Bee." I thought it world be about culture around the world, and animals, and languages, and stuff like that. But it was really about geography. I guess I should have seen that coming because it's in the name. But I read the magazine all the time. And its about the world, and it's basically capturing it's beauty and telling the world about the things we can do to keep it beautiful. But I guess I really was stupid because it's in the name: National Geography. It was really just cool to watch them compete.

Some people might be asking why I was watching. Some of you might just be thinking I just want to tell you why I was watching it. You are absolutely right. I do want to just tell you. But anyway, my dad had turned it on and I came out of my room for a glass of water. As I walked to the kitchen, he said," Look at all these kids that are smarter than you." Of course he was joking. So I just smiled and thought typical dad. I just replied, "Say that again. I didn't hear ya." And that's when he said it again. So I rushed over to the couch, forgetting all about my water, and whispered, "I'm watching these geeks."

I loved watching it, listening to my dad try and guess the answers. My mom came in and just shook her head. "My little nerds." And she walked away because she must have thought this was boring. At first it was, but I really got into it, as I previously said.

At the end, when my dad realized I didn't even try answering the questions, he go frustrated. He started saying that he was getting me a soccer ball with the world on it. And every time I kicked it, he wanted me studying it.  He's probably going to forget. And I already put world geography on my list of things to study this summer, so I don't know what else anyone can do.
