The Girl Who Could Fly

Just the title you it all. Just not everything.

This book was given to me by a friend who was re-reading the book for probably the gazillionth time. She handed it to me, almost a little sadly and said I would love the book.

She is psychic.

I loved the book.

The first 150 pages are just enough to make me smile and laugh not because their funny but because their so well written and amazing, you don't realize that you read not 10 pages, not 20 but 50, 100! That's how fast you'd read this book.

The story begins with Betty and Joe McCloud. Average, saintly people who live in Lowland County. They don't upset "Providence" and they don't do anything out of the ordinary. Of course, they had an abnormal child. It was only irony playing it's sick trick.

Piper, they named her, can float. Every since she was an itty bitty baby, somehow, she always floated off the ground just a few inches.

Betty never said anything, only worried a little until one day.

Betty was changing Piper on the table. The basic process: Cover nose, open diaper, throw away diaper, change diaper, breathe and exhale.

Betty left Piper on the table while changing her diaper and turned her back on her. That instant, Piper rolled off the table.

Normal children would hit the floor and cry and cry and cry until they were comforted. But Piper never hit the ground. She floated.

When Piper was five was the first time Betty decided to voice her opinions on the child to her husband. Joe only nodded because he was a man of little words.

When Piper got older, she saw a little bird get pushed out a tree and start flying. That gave her an idea.

She climbed onto the roof and she jumped off and flew!

Her parents didn't encourage it much but Piper never stopped. She praticed and praticed until she could fly at will.

One day, Betty suggests going to the Fourth of July because of Piper's strangely good behaviour. Piper was estatic, being homeschooled and never being able to play with the other kids.

So they went but it wasn't all they thought it would be.

There was a baseball game and Piper was picked last. She wasn't a good baseball player, couldn't catch a ball for the life of her and she couldn't swing. But she was determined. So when a ball know one can catch is swung, Piper deciedes to impress everyone and get it by flying.

No one is impressed. In fact, they all leave.

The next day, Ms. Hellion and many agents come to Piper's house. Hellion asks Piper if she wants to go to a school with kids just like her. And Piper agrees, says bye and leaves.

Best stinking story ever.

Best ending. Best characters. Best plot twist and best moral ever!

Even a romantic nut like me who hoped for some kind of romance to bloom, I just got lost and didn't even think about that.

Flash Burnout

Someone told me today that the name of this book would prevent them from actually picking it up and enjoying it and reading it. Unbelievable!

I love this title! Partially because I truly do understand why it's there as a granddaughter's photographer and, plus, I didn't take enough time to actually look at the title. I kinda just looked at the book, flipped it, read about it, and bought it.

Right now is actually the first time I started assessing why it could possibly be called Flash Burnout.

I still think it's a brilliant title. That goes along with a beautiful book cover and wonderful story that is enlightening and kinda stupid.

I don't usually read stories that have the point of view of a guy. The first time (that I can remember) I read in the point of view of a guy was in... I think the summer before 3rd grade. It was Sign of the Beaver, not a requirement for Gate but extra credit so I read it. I will openly say I loved that book enough to pass down to my younger sister.

But the point is I've read a total of maybe five to ten books in a male, a boy, a guy's point of view. This happens to be among them.

Time to review: This book was weirdly humorous.

On the very back of the book, it said it would be but I really didn't expect it to be. These are critics grading books and giving their opinions. Usually, I only take the reviews lightly. Like I should have the next part of the review.

It said the book was deep. For whatever reason, I didn't take that all to lightly.

I should have.

Maybe it's because the book was so short or because I read to fast or because the character was not really spilling his emotions, I don't know, but this book was not deep enough for my taste.

When a book says it is deep, it had better be deep!

Okay, let's get to the story's main idea. It's about a guy named Blake. He has a cute girlfriend named Shannon and an awesome photography buddy named Marissa. Blake loves being with his girlfriend. And he loves being with Marissa, his friend. Only his friend.

Who knew it could turn for the worst.

As a project, Blake takes a picture of a woman, drunk and passed out against a building. Marissa sees it and freaks out, stating that's her mom. Of course, Blake freaks out as well, asking questions in his head he wouldn't voice.

Eventually, Marissa finds her mom, her meth-head mom, and gets her into rehab.

Things go back to normal. Until Marissa's mom goes missing again.

Along with Marissa's drama, Shannon feels like Blake is spending too much time with Marissa, even if they are just friends. And, hey, how can Blake not notice this when he really loves his girl Shannon and really wants to do...it with her.

My rating: 6 out of 10. It made me smile. And giggle weirdly on the bus so much people started watching me but still, this book was really just too small and jam packed for the big stuff going inside Blake's head that I can't even feel sad about Marissa or Blake or Shannon or the mom.

And the ending...I still need some time to really think about whether I liked it. I'll just have to say that the ending was something... you interpret that however you want to.

Oh, the author is a female, if you were curious. I sure was because this book was a little boyish, I just had to look up the author's gender.

Nothing

Martin Aitken when he was younger.

It's amusing at first saying, "Hey, I just read a book!"

"Really? What was it called?"

"Nothing."

Really, it is actually funny saying this. Especially when people think I'm not kidding. But, seriously, being completely serious here, this book has now made me emotionally disturbed.  So I would obviously recommend this to the rest of the world out there though many, many people have already read it in France, Denmark, Hungary, and other European countries. In fact, the version I purchased was actually translated from Danish by a guy named Martin Aitken.

Honestly, this book was emotional. At first when I picked it up, I thought it was a thriller or something along the lines of teenage assassin (not the lame, modern ones nowadays, I mean the cool ones who plan out murders like in this one book I have to still write about).

Instead, it was way cooler.

Now, I like to call myself the ultimate book scavenger. And this book proves my mad skills for getting awesome books.

Okay, let's get to the nitty gritty.

A kid called Pierre Anton one the first day of 7th grade announces, "Nothing Matters. I've known that for a long time. So nothing's worth doing. I just realized that." And he leaves and never comes back.

After his realization, the other kids start acting a little weird, thinking about what Pierre Anton said until finally it sets in that what he said was totally stupid. There is something to live for! A job and love and education! But Pierre quickly says that's all stupid because you get a job and lose it to die, you can fall right back out of love and what is the need for education? To get a job so you can die?

And everyday, Pierre Anton reminds them all as they pass by his plum tree, the one he sits in. He throws plums at them and further irritates all of them until finally, they reach their definite breaking point.

They decide to prove to him that something does matter in life. That life isn't meant to just die.

Eventually, things do get out of hand but they can't stop now when their almost done showing Pierre Anton what life is worth living for.

See what I mean? Pure genius! And the ending was just too good!

There seriously were dead points. Not completely but I'm sure if some of you do end up reading this, you'll think it's stupid even though this is an upcoming classic.

Getting Over Garret Delaney

When I saw this book on the floor of my friend's grandmother's minivan, I didn't think it was going to be much considering she said she hadn't even finished it and didn't seem to care when I asked if I could borrow it. And right now, as I type this review, it seems as if I always applaud books (well except for this one time) but this one was really, extremely cool.

For one, it was intriguing. I couldn't put it down. Another thing, I could totally relate to most situation. This book was hilarious and literally had me sitting in my room on my bed, rereading stuff out loud just to giggle to myself again. This book is fresh and funny, and really connects with the reader.

Okay, this book is mainly about a girl named Sadie and her plan to get over her extremely hot best friend that she is utterly in love with. I bet you're asking "Why in the world would she ever ever do that?" Simple. Her best friend, Garret, doesn't love her back.

Before she realizes she needs to really get over him and just be his friend, he goes to a writing camp and she is convinced that he'll come back, in love with her. But he tells her he's in love with this other girl who, I quote him exactly from the book, "You'd love her, too. You guys are so much alike. It's why I noticed her to begin with."

Anyways, I loved this book so much. Sadie was asking herself if she had always been a Garret Clone, a wannabe, one of those girls who changes herself just for a guy, and she found out that was exactly was she was. I started wondering if I ever acted like a clone for someone, maybe even Hay but I realized I've never really done that.

I love the characters, especially LuAnn, this vintage loving hipster fashion diva who helps Sadie with her "Getting over Garret" plan. I also adore Josh because he's so much like Sadie when she's really herself, and he's funny.

I love the way it's written, it could be read by anyone as long as they try to understand most of the book and don't get side tracked a lot even though you'll understand everything even if you miss a little bit. You'll just miss the little stuff that is humorous and just...meant to exist there, really.

Abduction!

"Don't talk to strangers." "Run away and get an adult immediately." "Don't get in a car with a stranger."  What if that stranger had your dog? He said your mom wanted to meet you at the hospital? He was your father?

Imagine your name is Matt. You're six years old. Your mom always told you to never talk to strangers, to always go home on the bus with you big sister, Bonnie. And never EVER talk to strangers?

I bet you've never thought to pick this particular book off the shelf or at your school just because it was a itty bitty book or it wasn't romance or fantasy. It's a little kid's novel. It's stupid. "I know not to trust strangers."

Trust me, that was what I thought everytime I passed this book everyday for about month but I picked it up for Thanksgiving break because I thought it was going to be a quick read. I was right. It was: Two day read with many many breaks made by cousins and aunts and grandmas.

But I was also wrong. This was a lesson. This book was utterly awesome and well thought out. Could you imagine being abducted by your father? Or someone you've never met? Too bad Matt was kidnapped by both, his father and a complete stranger.

And trust me when I say it's a thinking book. When I went to bed the first night I had it, I couldn't stop thinking about what would happen to Matt and Bonnie and Pookie throughout the book. I wanted to know more about the abductor, Denny Thurman and his so very "valid" reasons for even thinking about abduction.

Whether you're thirtheen like me or five or seventy-four or twenty, you can read this book and learn something from all perspectives of this story: What it's like for the police officerr, witnesses, or any else really involved.

Breaking Dawn: Part 2

I'm pretty sure that kid's face is

Perhaps the most frustrating movie to watch with the weirdest ending and awkward kissing scenes, Twilight has done it again! Your strange romantic fantasy were werewolves and vampires aren't trying to kill the "beautiful" girl but, in fact, win her love and swooning over her, is back and finally ends the series with a very touching ending.

After Renesmee's (weird name) incredible birth, Bella is turned to a new born vampire. When she wakes after her three day rebirth, Edward and her visit the baby and find out the inevitable (unless you read the book)! Jacob couldn't seem to control his wolf-like instincts and did only what was destined to happen: imprint.

After Bella gets over that itty bitty fact, she moves on and starts to get used to the idea and actually seems to enjoy having them together. But one day when Renesmee is catching snowflakes with Bella and Jacob, a woman finds them. She was from a vampire clan more to the north but she ran away before Bella could even say hello.

When the three return to the family, the Collins appear frightened because they finally understood why the vampire ran away: She thought Renesmee was an immortal child even though she is far from it.

Just some side notes:

Robert Pattinson as Cedric Diggory. MUCH BETER!

Kristen Stewart's teeth kept bothering me during the whole movie. I was really trying to figure out how all her other teeth are normal but those two front buck teeth are just so... abnormalishly annoying?

Robert Pattinson has lost his hottiness, if he even had it. He was so much better looking in Harry Potter as Cedric. He just needs to stop whispering and stop making his skin so pale! I can't take it! And when he kisses people, it looks like he's trying to swallow people and it's not because he's craving blood or anything. It's SO gross.

Taylor Lautner still looks great and everything and his confidence level in movies is literally just sky-high almost...cocky and arrogent but I said nothing.

One more thing, the ending nearly killed me: The whole scene were all the vampires gathered together. I was almost crying when they got to some of the most violent parts out of the whole series and not for the reasons you think. It's true I couldn't watch those heads flying and maybe soon you'll see what I'm talking about or you know what I'm talking about but when Carlisle nearly....UGH I was so angry!

Don't think I'm being bias because I loved the writing and movies but I really HATE the message it sends to the female population and even the male population about love and boyfriends and life really. Love isn't just about hormonial girls who jump off cliffs and don't communitcate with their family. It's about friendship (which Bella threw away to be with Edward), Dignity (which Bella threw away to be with Edward), a sense of loyalty (she gave WAY to much of that to Edward), self-control (Edward BITE HER FACE) and maturity (HAHA maturity. When did they ever have a really developed marriage or friendship throughout this movie series?)

My rating: 6 out 10 For really weird transitions, and STILL those kissing scenes were the strangest takes I have ever watched in my whole life (and Edward was -I swear- biting Bella's shoulders ever single time).

Wreck-it Ralph

The problem with movies now a days is it's either based of a book, a remake, or something entirely different than what you thought or what it said it would be. Wreck-it Ralph was original and exactly what you thought it would be like without it being horrible. So basically, it pasted one of my secret test.

Second, it was a perfect family movie. That's another thing about movies: Its either for one kind of person. This had everything. The creativity, humor, drama-ish plot, mood and emotion. This movie nearly had me in tears.

The movie connects with everyone. I mean, everyone likes video games, right? Or, you've had that one game you just fell in love with, either for the graphics, backstory, characters, adventure or whatever. This movie had it all, just like the perfect video game.

The individual characters are what really won me over, all their problems and backgrounds, voices and designs. My favorite was Fix-it Felix, voiced by Jack McBrayer. He had such a goody-two-shoes feel, with his big red cheeks and simple designs. His dialogue was even better. He was so sweet and nervous. On the other hand, I also loved Calhoun, voiced by Jane Lynch, who was the army chick and his the big, huge gun and rough attitude. I especially loved her back story but you have to watch the movie to see that little tid-bit. It's funny what happens at the end with Felix and Calhoun but I also wouldn't give that away.

My rating: 8/10 For the originality and humor though the humor may not amuse everyone.

Shows and Websites

Dear people's faces I shall call my diary,

Has anyone heard of Glee? How about Once Upon A Time? Anybody? Anyone?

Well, Glee is already getting started up. Like every Thursday at 9/8 o'clock central. This Glee, Rachel has gone to her dream college but is really sad, leaving Finn who left for the military. But everyone back as school is searching for their new star aka New Rachel.

Once Upon a Time. I absolutely loved this show. Loved. I haven't watched the any episodes because the premiere has yet to be showed, but I don't think they should continue with the story. Last year, the story was fantastic. A lady from New York comes to Story Brook and tries to figure out what the heck her son (who she put up for adoption but he visited her on the very first episode and led her to Story Brook) is talking about. She figures out the people in town's fairy tales and solves the problem and releases the town from its curse.

Now, as you can see, the problem is obviously solved. How are the creators and directors suppose to make a story out of the non remaining pieces of the story? There was no cliff-hanger and there is absolutely nothing I can think of that they can make out of the ending. I just can't think of anything!

To end this post on a good note, let's talk about some websites because today is totally website day! (Thursday/ Wednesday is officially website day!)

Pinterest: This site is awesome! You can add ideas (pictures, videos, links (with a picture or video of course) People will repin it to there boards and so on so forth. Its amazing because its so addicting and it has everything! Sports, crafts, health, fashion, food (yes!), Humor and so much more. Anyone can use it but keep it more in the ten and over age area because people can put some stuff parents may not agree with.

It has an app! Called pinterest! Its free then you can go onto pinterest anytime, anywhere. Its that fun! Like, comment, repin! Have fun!

Grades and Oobleck and Headaches..Oh My!

Dear people's faces I shall call my diary,

Today my head nearly fell off from all the noise and heat. My headache is just beating me up!

Anyway, Grading is back! Today was a pretty good day, talking grades wise. All day, I swear I was going to go to sleep. Or throw up. Or have a spasm attach and just pass out from the need of sleep...or boredom.

Nothing interested me more today than my grades. I was marveled by them. Everything except for music was a very high A+. It made me extremely happy. And I got one of my math test back. Guess what... 100%. I'm feeling pretty awesome right now. I haven't been able to brag all day but that's only because I don't know or care about other people's grades (No offense but I don't want to get my feelings hurt or hurt some else's feelings.

Anyways, in science, we did a fantastic lab project. Making oobleck. I actually gave it way to a friend because it just didn't interest me enough but it was definitely fun making. Taking 5 spoonfuls of glue and 2 spoonfuls of watered detergent and mixing up in a plastic bag, then kneading it in the bag for at least 2 minutes, it get a "liquidish solid."Make sure to add food coloring if you want some color. This is actually a liquid, if made right, just to put that out there.

Well, I really hope everyone got back really good grades. Now I'm going to go take a nap.

Plain Lucky

Dear people's faces I shall call my diary,

I know I haven't been writing in a long time. But today just seems like the perfect day to get started up again.

Yesterday, I woke up. At six in the morning. I couldn't figure out how to turn off the clock because my brain was so foggy so I took out the plug and have yet to fix my alarm clock.

About two hours later, I woke up again. I probably would have stayed in bed if my stomach didn't stop punching it's self. So I hurried to the bathroom. In there, I brushed my pearly whites and made my face even more impossibly beautiful and went to get a glass of water.

I made a huge breakfast for myself and my little sissies. Toast Strudels and Waffles. By the time we we done, I was ready to burst and spread all the sugary insides all over the kitchen. My stomach felt like crap after eating that food so I decided to just lay around, even though I probably shouldn't have.

You see, my soccer team made a deal with our coach that if we got to super fit on this running game, he would take us out for sushi. Now, I told myself I wouldn't lay around all day, playing video games and feeling bad because I looked like a video game obsessed kid. But that's really what happened.

I didn't have a soccer game that day so my mom decided she wanted to go see a movie. She and I decided on Paranorman (because Tim Burton movies are the bomb diggity!) Anyway, we left at five in the afternoon.

We first went to Target because the movie didn't start until seven. So we wandered the store, Mom, Baby, Tiny and I. I went to the skateboard section and guitar section, hoping to find good prices so I could buy them for my birthday.

Finally, we went to the theater. In there, I saw a sign that said people we looking for extras. Mom said I could possibly sign up later but I wasn't really hung up on it even though that was a really big deal for me. I just didn't want to get too excited if mom changed her mind.

We went to take our seats and the theater was nearly empty. But by the time the movie started, there was a little bit more people.


I have to say, that movie was awesome. It was funny and scary and creative and Tim Burton is forever my favorite director. I would absolutely love to create some of the things he creates...one day.

Anyway, we left the theater. Tiny had to use the bathroom so mom gave me Baby and told me I could sign up on the Extras info sheet. I filled in everything I could until, of course, mom came out and I gave her the rest to fill in.

We left the theater afterwards, and as we we're walking to the car, I saw what looked like a five dollar bill. Instead, it was a twenty!!


Pretty good day! But I still have to exercise if I want free sushi....

Bad Hair Day

This had to be one of the worst hair days ever! My mom wasn't going to braid up my hair because it looked just fine last night. All pretty and curly. She said it could wait and that I was very capable of handling it (I may have edited what she said...). 

Well, I got up this morning, my hair exactly like it was the night before. BEAUTIFUL! I went to the school bus, and everything was fine. I got onto the bus and bang! The humidity, the heat, the wind! 

By the time I got to school my hair looked like that cat's hair --->

By the way, why do we torture our pets? Their not little dolls or mini humans that we can play with.

Anyways, that was my bad hair day. But the day in general was awesome! Maybe because I had to keep explaining to people why my hair looked the way it did. I made it funnier and funnier with each person.

First Day of School

Hey there! First day of school and I handled it like a boss!

This morning was just like an average summer morning only I had to get early and go somewhere. I didn't understand why everyone was so excited. I mean, I understand but the difference between school and summer isn't all that different.

Anyway, I'm a seventh grader now and I don't feel any different. Nothing special happen (except I'm making everyone call me Jay Jay). I love all my teachers and everyone is still cool.

Now the one different thing about me this year is I'm really antisocial. I just didn't want to talk to people at the moment. I wasn't avoiding anyone or just not speaking a word to anyone. I did say hi. But you know how you just want to be silent because you avoid a big clash or having to, I don't know, explain stuff you really don't care to explain? Yeah, that's why.

But I'm reunited with all my friends I haven't talked to in exactly three months and I'm really happy! I love the school and everything just seems like good luck right now.

Speaking of luck, I was wearing these shoes I hadn't worn for a while and felt something at the bottom of them. I didn't feel like pulling them off and checking so I just assumed it was a flat piece of word or a really small, smooth rock. So I was walking around, feeling awesome today and I get home, take off my shoe. And I find a penny!!

Money

So this may be a topic you don't care about or don't even want to think about. Personally, it's something that's on my mind a lot. The fact is, I'm a spender. I like lots of money. In fact, one of my personal dream goals in life is to have so much money, I can take care of myself and family without actually needing a job later on in life. I think that's a pretty good goal. But I started to think more and more about other people.

Lately, I've been obsessed with this game called The Sims 3. I've always loved the series. Its just I want the version for my computer, not the one I have on my DS. Mind you, I like mature games and long lasting games. So the game I want is rated teen plus. Only because this version is way better than the rated everyone version on my DS.

Now, I told my mom about my obsession. She told me to look at every store and website. Of course, I did as she said and researched everything. It took me one night and the next day. I still have to look up a video of someone installing the PC game to my kind of computer. I don't want to take any risk with my mom and dad's computer.

I finally found the perfect price, and after all the math, found out that it was even better, considering I get free shipping and 5% off. AWESOME!

I started to think how fun this actually was. I usually tease my mom about how she loves coupons and saving money. But now I know just how fun it actually is.

I was thinking about this nation's economy. It must be hard on the parents but also on the kids. 12.7 million people are unemployed and 770,000 homeless people just last year. I have never really thought about all the kids, considering the news never actually asks them how they feel. It must be hard. And I guess I needed to say that to the world because they'll never know it if I never say it.

Modern Tree Houses

You know how everyone always wanted a tree house when they were five? You may still want one. Lucky for you, you live in the twenty-first century where technology and innovation are hand in hand.

Modern tree houses are incredibly...like houses. Just in the trees. Or smaller. There are hotels and Breakfast-and-Brunch inns that are, in fact, in the trees. Adults actually have them built for themselves all the time. They'll have a kitchen, bathroom, television, and master bathroom. And, of course, a grand view of the backyard.

They say its to revisit their childhood memories. And if its a child's treehouse, their only exploring through their imagination some more.

There are many architectures who build magnificent houses. Their ideas are full of creativity, they might be revisiting their childhood memories all the time. Or their just great thinkers.

I was actually thinking that one day, when I'm older, I want to live in a tree house. Something...closer to my imagination and soul.

London 2012 Olympics

Today is the open ceremony of the Olympics in London! Today is a pretty exciting day for everyone who loves sports or loves watching people compete. Or they just love to watch their own country leave everyone in the dust!

All I have to say is I absolutely love watching the Gymnastics, swimming, and soccer, of course. I'm going to watch every one of those events but I'm really looking forward to those three.

Now for London, this has to be a big honor, like it is for every country that has to host the Olympics. But what's different about this is the last games. Beijing's open ceremony was incredible and might actually be impossible to beat. Maybe not impossible, but it was really something to watch. 

Now London is expected to beat this. But some people disagree this this competition and just want London to forget about Beijing. The opening ceremony is suppose to represent their country but who said not to do it in a brilliant and spectacular way?

Well, today's opening ceremony will be on NBC, airing at 7:30 or 6:30 central, depends on where you live.

Pinocchio

I'm pumped! And totally ready for this movie that's coming out in 2014! Too soon to get excited, I know. But this movie is going to be epic. And I'm not kidding. This movie is going to be a sort of epic fantasy adventure based off of  the story Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi.

Pinocchio's story is about a wood carver who creates a puppet that is brought to life by a fairy. But Pinocchio, the puppet, is not a human boy like he would like to be. He must earn the right to be real by proving he is brave, unselfish, and truthful. You can read the shortened version at Childrenstory.info

Now, the director of Pacific Rim, Guillermo de Toro, has already started the pre-production, the process of getting all the elements of a film or movie together before shooting or producing, of Pinocchio. His stop-motion version is going to be much darker and a little intense. He plans to start shooting by the summer of 2013.

But for now, he is doing a bit of post-production on Pacific Rim, an action packed, science fiction adventure about giant robots controlled by humans who are trying to fight off an alien attack on Earth. How interesting! That will be released next year, and the rating is most likely PG-13. But still unknown.

Its seems Guillermo is defiantly confident that Pacific Rim is "Going to be the biggest monster movie" and "The cast is great." Who wouldn't be confident in their own work? And who doesn't just love alien attack movies? So cool!

The Amazing Spider-Man

I've wanted to see this movie for so long. And I didn't know it was going to be this awesome!

To start off, who knew Andrew Garfield, Peter Parker/ Spider-man, was so funny. I mean, he looks funny. And H says his hair is funny too, but I just didn't think that the movie was going to be so funny. And he defiantly brought the movie to life. He is the perfect modern spider-man.

And he just looks like a nerd! He fits the part perfectly.

Now Emma Stone played Gwen Stacy. Maybe I don't remember it right but I thought Mary Jane (in the last series) didn't know the Peter was spider-man and didn't fall in love with him for a while. They were just friends. Correct me if I'm wrong. I haven't watched the movie in a long time. But in this series Gwen falls for Peter so fast. It doesn't even take that long. Maybe fifteen minutes or so.
But who cares about the details! Emma Stone was still incredibly wonderful. Her dialogue between Peter was hilarious. And her father and her shared some awkward moments themselves.... Either way, her character was fun and happy.

Rhys Ifans was an unlikely villain. In the story, he plays Dr. Curt, an amputee. He's been searching for a cure for humans to grow back limbs. And he actually finds a cure but it goes horribly wrong. Now that I think about it, I guess it's not unlikely for a scientist to go crazy. Because he defiantly did.

I'm a little mad that someone just decided to just start the series all over again but it was still really good and I can't wait for the next one in 2014.

But anyway, I recommended this to people who like a little bit of romance (Just a bit. I wasn't expecting THAT much!), love action, nerds, weird surprises, mad scientist, spider people with really cool reflexes, and funny teenagers.

Cryer's Cross

I know I've been gone for a while and didn't write anything telling you guys I was leaving. SORRY! I left for the fourth of July and five more days. And the place I was staying at didn't have usable wi-fi. So, sorry guys. I really am.

Now I read this amazing book called Cryer's Cross by Lisa McMann. I read it in about two days time and its pretty short, maybe two hundred pages with big font I wasn't expecting.

The main character, Kendall lives in Cryer's Cross, Montana with her best friend Nico, who's practically her brother. Kendall's small town has only so many people and everyone knows everyone. Her parents and everyone else owns a farm, growing food and raising cattle. Its a pretty basic life. Except for the fact Kendall suffers from OCD, Obsessive compulsive disorder. But that doesn't bother her all that much. It just sort of takes over her life.

Then one day in the middle of the summer, a girl goes missing. Without a trace. Leaving the town to search for her until they've all searched every corner and know she's most likely dead. Months later, Kendall's best friend and boyfriend, Nico, disappears without a trace.

Kendall has to find out how to save him, and how she's going to save herself from whatever has taken her best friend.

"The smaller the town, the bigger the secrets."

My rating is 8 out of 10 only because it didn't scare me and because it was short. But it was still a fantastic book and one of it's purposes was a good one. It taught me about OCD people and their problems. I think if I meet a person with this disorder, I might understand their situation better.

The Legend of Korra

Dear people's faces I shall call my diary,


I watch a lot of series on television and there is this one that has just been eating my insides because its just over. Absolutely over.

Call me childish, but I got addicted to The Legend of Korra on Nick. Don't know what that is? The series is about the next avatar after Aang, struggling to bring peace among the people. Don't know who Aang is? Aang had a very long series called Avatar : The Last Airbender.

Aang was a twelve year old who was an Airbender and found out about being the avatar from the leaders of his temple. Once he found out that his teacher, who taught him how to airbend, was going to another temple, Aang ran away and was frozen along with his sky bison. A hundred years later, a girl named Katarra and her brother find him in the ice and later learn he is the avatar and the last airbender because the firebenders destroyed his people. Aang and his friends then must unite the nations and stop the fire nation from destroying the earth and water nation.

Now that you understand that, Korra is now the avatar (but not completely) and must master all the elements. She has mastered Fire, Water, and Earth but Air isn't coming as easily because it is her opposite (she's a firebender at heart). She can't connect to the spiritual world and can't even produce a light wind. And what's frustrating, is while she is becoming the avatar, the people without bending powers start to form an alliance against the benders. A man named Amon forms the Equalist to "protect" the normal people. But what's even more amazing than his little group, is he has the ability to take other people's bending away permanently. And this power has only belonged to the avatar and now one else. So Korra must fight against Amon and make peace.

Now, what's been bugging me is the ending. It was so inspirational, how Korra falls in love and gets back her powers and becomes the avatar. But it's just...I want to know how a person's soul or mind or body is chosen to be the avatar. One of my many theories is that the past avatars pick someone because they can possibly see their future in the after life.

This brings up a theory that I like to think actually exist and probably doesn't. Now its really hard to explain so just follow along as best as you can. I like to think the world was born when I was born. That every experience is a brand new one to the world and that every new thing that some says to me is brand new. Your probably think, "Yeah, it is. For you." But what's I'm trying to say is that everything happening is like a brand new thing to the world. I have my own world, and you do too. Or maybe we share one or there are millions of different worlds. Or maybe we all just don't exist. Maybe we're all just apart of a dream. And when that person wakes up, the cycle starts over and that person makes a new world without even knowing it.

Snow White and the Huntsman

Friday I went to see Snow White and the Huntsman (PG-13) with H. Directed by Rupert Sanders. 

The movie, overall, was action packed, full of death, and plenty of killing. This was my sort of movie! Sure it had some romance but not the kind of romance you would think a Snow White movie would have.

Before you go judging the actors in the movie, I have to say that the director picked just the right people for the job. Kristen Stewart, from the Twilight movie series, was actually a beautiful Snow White and sure did look good in some armor and a sword. She wasn't the person I expected to be Snow White, considering Snow White in animations had chubby cheeks and even teeth (Is it just me, or is her two front teeth seem a bit large?). But she did her job well.

I loved watching Chris Hemsworth play the huntsman because he just fit the part. Despite his earlier role as Thor, he looks better with a dagger than a hammer. At some parts, he nearly made me cry. He would talk on and on in that strong voice and his character was probably just drunk but it still was meaningful. I hope to see him in more fantasy movies like this.

Some people have never heard this name but Sam Claflin was a wonderful William, the man Snow White is betrothed to. He previously played Philip, the man who falls in love with the mermaid, in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. I never imagined the Prince as a sort of Robin Hood character with a bow and fire arrows. And Claflin is the Robin Hood type. I loved all his action scenes because they were so sweet and simple, just like his character.

The Queen, Charlize Theron, was seen in the movie Hancock as Mary. She was just beautiful and didn't look too pale for all the black that surrounded her in her black and deadly castle full of knights and half-dead people (and I'm not talking about zombies). Theron was a killer queen and sure did look good when she wanted to. I just loved the way she made me hate her than suddenly feel sorry for her even though she is the evil queen in this story. I especially loved it when she was talking to her mirror and now I actually wish I had one just like hers. 

The whole movie was just a work of art, like it should be. But it also better than I expected it to be. I loved the animations and little creatures. I fell in love with the dialogue between characters like the queen and her brother. It was an adventure just watching it.

It kept me on the edge of my seat and actually inspired me to be a little bit more willing to fight for what I believe in. Like the death of an evil queen that uses her beauty against people.

Rating: 9 1/2 out of 10

Recommended to people who like just an ounce of romance and a pack load of adventure/ action and fantasy.
